Idaho Potato Commission Appoints New Commissioner, Mark Duncanson

Eagle, Idaho, November 5, 2021 -- During the Idaho Potato Commission’s (IPC) November meeting, Mark Duncanson, the Director of Raw Material procurement at Basic American Foods, was sworn in to represent the processor sector of the industry. Brett Jensen of Brett Jensen Farms and Bryan Wada of Wada Farms were appointed Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively.

The Idaho Potato Commission Revamps Popular Website

Eagle, Idaho, October 26, 2021 -- Now there are even more reasons to visit the Idaho Potato Commission’s (IPC) popular website. Already the “go to” resource for all things potato-related, the website’s fresh new look, new campaigns and enhanced recipe categorization by diet are optimized by advanced SEO measures to ensure the website is always meeting its visitors’ needs. 

Each year the IPC website demonstrates significant organic growth. This year there were 1,500,879 visitors representing a 16% increase in traffic in 12 months and a 43% increase overall for two years. More importantly, visitors to the website are staying for close to two minutes. Per the Crazy Egg*, a website optimization company, 15 seconds is the average time spent on a website. And, while on the website folks are surfing. A total of 2,474,375 pages were recorded this year and new users increased by 12.34%.

Jamey Higham Named New Idaho Potato Commission President and CEO

Eagle, Idaho, October 15, 2021 -- Produce industry veteran Jamey Higham will become the next president and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission, effective in early 2022.

Born and raised in Idaho® potato country, Higham says he is looking forward to building on the spud’s strong global reputation for high quality. “IPC has done a tremendous job of stewarding the brand, and I’m very humbled and excited for this opportunity,” says Higham, whose high school in Shelley, Idaho, was represented by a russet potato mascot. “I started in the potato industry in 1991, and it’s in my blood.”
