The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is kicking off the 2012 harvest with a new television commercial featuring the Great Big Idaho® Potato Truck and a real Idaho® potato farmer. The humorous spot made its debut on ESPN during Boise State University’s (BSU) first game of the year against Michigan State University on August 31.
The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is pleased to announce that Travis Blacker has accepted the position of Industry Relations Director. Blacker will work out of the IPC’s Eastern Idaho office and will focus on building and developing relationships between the IPC and all industry members: growers, shippers and processors.

As part of its cross-country tour, the Great Big Idaho® Potato Truck spent a few days enjoying the southern hospitality in Atlanta, Ga. One of its first stops was the Atlanta Food Truck Park on 1850 Howell Mill Road. Lunchtime visitors had an opportunity to view this “spudtacular” vehicle and four local Meals On Wheels agencies received a total of 350,000 servings of Idahoan Mashed Potatoes, ready-to-serve, dehydrated potato products.
Thousands gathered in the streets of Boise, Nampa, Kuna and Idaho City over Memorial Day weekend as the first-ever Exergy Tour welcomed the world’s top women cyclists to scenic Idaho to compete at the highest level. Throughout the five day event, the Olympic athletes fueled up for their rides in the Feed Zone with healthy, nutrient-dense Idaho® potatoes provided by the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC).
The U.S. Senators from Idaho, James E. Risch and Mike Crapo, today joined the President and CEO of the IPC, Frank Muir, to welcome the Great Big Idaho® Potato Truck when it rolled into Washington, D.C. for a special appearance in front of the the U.S. Capitol Building. In celebration of the mid-point of the truck’s seven-month cross country tour, to mark the IPC’s milestone 75th Anniversary, Senators Risch and Crapo joined Muir to present a $100,000 check from the IPC to Enid A. Borden, the President and CEO of Meals On Wheels Association of America.

The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) continues to expand its global reach, with a new international office serving Latin America launched in March 2012 and plans for a South Korea office to open this fall. The new offices join the IPC’s existing roster of international offices for Mexico, Asia, and Southeast Asia, which have helped propel the premium Idaho® potato brand around the world.
In anticipation of its 2012 Leadership Conference, the Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education announces the winners of the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) Innovation Award. The annual award and two runners-up citations are given to an individuals and/or programs that demonstrate innovative techniques and practices in foodservice education.
