EAGLE, Idaho, October 16, 2012 – The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is now hosting their “Recipe of the Month Photo Contest” on Pinterest, taking full advantage of the site’s ability to showcase pin-worthy food photography and recipe ideas.
“We are very excited to continue expanding the Idaho® potato’s presence on Pinterest, one of the fastest growing sites on the Internet,” said Frank Muir, President and CEO, IPC. “It’s really the perfect platform for us to engage consumers who are passionate about food and photography. Not only will folks be able to proudly showcase their dishes to thousands of other foodies, they’ll have a chance to win $250.”
Since its launch in 2011, the IPC’s “Recipe of the Month” Photo Contest has been a hit among potato lovers, home cooks, and amateur photographers alike. At the beginning of every month the IPC posts a recipe on its website www.idahopotato.com and participants have up to three weeks to submit their photography. The rules of participating in the contest are exactly the same, but now entrants will have a chance to get their friends and followers involved with “repins” and “likes” on Pinterest!
October’s recipe is Idaho® Potato “Nachos,” a tasty tater take on a Mexican food favorite by Chef Greg Hardesty of Recess and Room Four in Indianapolis.
To enter the Pinterest Recipe Photo Contest, follow these instructions:
The winner of the $250 prize will be announced around the first week of the following month. Each month’s entries must be received by the deadline specified toward end of the month. October’s photo contest deadline is October 29, 2012. For official contest rules, visit http://pressroom.idahopotato.com/pinterest-recipe-photo-contest-rules/.
