The 2018 IPC Potato Lover’s Month Retail Display Contest, which will run from January 15 through March 16, 2018, is designed for entrants who think big, regardless of the size of their retail display area.
“This year, we’re especially encouraging stores with smaller retail displays to enter,” says IPC marketing manager Jamie Bowen. “A great Idaho® potato display doesn’t have to be gigantic and elaborate to be a crowd pleaser. We’re looking for eye-catching, innovative displays that appeal to shoppers, so creativity counts more than square footage!”
And everyone who enters will receive a free Ninja® Fit single-serve blender, which can quickly create smoothies, nutrient juices and more in two 16-ounce Nutri Ninja® cups that are perfect for on-the-go sipping.
The IPC also welcomes a new partner to the 2018 contest: HORMEL® Chili, which joins HORMEL® Bacon Toppings as an Idaho® potato’s BFF.
“The versatility of chili allows it to be paired with multiple foods,” says Hormel Chili brand manager Mark Beierle. “Adding chili and bacon to potatoes creates a unique consumer solution.”
Hormel Bacon Toppings brand manager Corrine Hjelmen adds: “The Idaho Potato Commission's great execution of this program makes it a natural fit for Hormel. The contest provides an opportunity to display a meal solution for the consumer and retailer in a fun and unique way.”
To enter the 2018 retail display contest, just create a sales-driving product display that incorporates clearly marked fresh Idaho® potatoes (bag, bulk or both), an Idaho® dehydrated potato product, HORMEL® Real Bacon Toppings and HORMEL® Chili; potato products from other states cannot be included. You must also include IPC 2018 special themed point-of-sale materials: double-sided Potato Lover’s Month logo display signs, one large and two small double-sided signs with appetizing photos, and two inflatable Mylar Spuddy Buddy balloons. You can find clip art and recipes on the IPC website at www.IdahoPotato.com/Retail.
Retailers will compete with other same-size stores in one of three categories: 1-5 cash registers, 6-9 cash registers, or 10-plus cash registers. Within each store category, entrants are eligible to win these prizes:
In addition, the Category Manager Match Program will award equivalent prizes to corporate category managers for stores that qualify for a 1st through 5th place prize.
