EAGLE, ID, FEBRUARY - With the buzz about the Idaho Potato Commission's (IPC) 14th Annual Potato Lover's Month Retail Display Contest - including matching prizes for category managers, an Ad Manager Overlay Program and more than $150,000 in cash and prizes - chances are, you've already jumped on board with an innovative entry. But, if you somehow missed the boat, there's still time to tune in and get a new 5-inch portable TV, free just for entering the contest.
The IPC is seeking eye-catching displays featuring Idaho® Potatoes topped with Kraft Cheese Whiz® and Kraft Ranch Dressing®. Until the end of February, retailers have the opportunity to dazzle judges with their imagination and creativity.
"With each year, our prizes and entry awards have increased in value," says Seth Pemsler, Vice President Retail, IPC. "And, with matching prizes for category managers and an Ad Manager Overlay Program, we expect the momentum and excitement surrounding this year's contest to reach an all time high. We want to remind all of our supporters that there is still time to participate and the display contest is really a "win - win" as it surely attracts consumers into the produce aisle."
To enter, retailers are asked to design an attention-getting display that promotes Idaho Potatoes with Kraft Cheese Whiz and Kraft Ranch Dressing. For the Ad Contest Overlay Program, retailers mail a copy of the entire circular that features the Potato Lover's Month Display at their store.
Retailers may obtain entry forms by visiting the IPC website (www.idahopotato.com), calling the Idaho Potato Commission at (208) 334-2350, contacting their regional representative, contacting their local Kraft representative or faxing their request to (208) 334-2274 c/o Potato Lover's Contest.
Displays must be in place at least one week during the January 23 through February 27, 2005 contest period. To enter, retailers must provide qualified entries and photos of their respective 2005 displays. Entries must be received no later than March 31, 2005, and can be submitted directly through the Idaho Potato Commission website (www.idahopotato.com). All winners will be notified by April 30, 2005.
Although Idaho is famous worldwide for its premium potatoes, some consumers don't realize that only potatoes grown in the Gem State can wear the "Grown in Idaho" Seal. Both words Idaho® Potatoes and the "Grown in Idaho®" seal are federally registered Certification Marks that certify to consumers that they are purchasing genuine Idaho Potatoes that have been grown in the state of Idaho.

Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous "Grown in Idaho®" seal, a federally registered trademark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho's ideal growing conditions, including rich, volcanic soil, climate and irrigation differentiate Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
