I made potato soup with ham cubes and used whole milk, condensed sweetened milk and evaporated milk. When it was finished cooking it tasted too sweet for me. How do I get rid of the sweet taste and why did that happen?
Nothing is more delicious than potato soup. If you are looking to have a less-sweet flavor you need only re-examine your listed ingredients, however. Whole milk sugar (12 grams), condensed sweetened milk sugar (166 grams) and canned whole evaporated milk (25 grams) explains it all. Try making the recipe using only low fat milk and/or perhaps a lower carb or keto ingredient for the roux thickener, if desired.
