Do very many Idaho Potato Growers grow organic potatoes?
Idaho potato acreage is 300,000 plus in any given year and only a small portion is dedicated to growing organically produced potatoes. This season about 1.6 million pounds or around 38 trucks were harvested and sold commercially. That compares to a little over 13 billion pounds raised conventionally by about 600 growers.
