Cheryl attended culinary school in New York and is a classically-trained Chef who worked in fine dining and high-end catering for over a decade in New York City before leaving Brooklyn to relocate to Florida. She left the restaurant world (and snowy winters) behind to start her own personal chef and catering business. Every week she creates fresh, healthy menus for busy clients featuring seasonal foods and plenty of potatoes!
Cheryl is the recipe writer, food & beverage tester, photographer and dishwasher at Pook's Pantry where she blogs about her life in food. She hopes to inspire people to get back into the kitchen and cook by showing people how to create delicious, restaurant-quality food at home. Her recipes have been featured on BuzzFeed and HuffingtonPost Canada. She has a cookbook obsession, a love of sweets and an adventurous spirit. Milk and cookies is still her favorite snack. When she's not in the kitchen, you can find her in the saddle on her road bike.
A Life in Food, One Meal at a Time
Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous "Grown in Idaho®" seal, a federally registered trademark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho's ideal growing conditions, including rich, volcanic soil, climate and irrigation differentiate Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
