Eagle, ID, March 26, 2015 – When 22 of southern California’s top food bloggers got together to talk taters at the 2nd Annual Potato Palooza, it was no ordinary tasting event. Idaho® potatoes were the centerpiece of this exclusive event that showcased the versatility of the spud through a collection of recipes that went above and beyond the traditional baked, mashed, fried and roasted applications.
“The Idaho Potato Commission was thrilled to host this annual event because it gave us a chance to spend one-on-one time with some of the most influential bloggers in the country and help them understand what makes Idaho® potatoes different from potatoes grown in other states,” explained Don Odiorne, Vice President, Foodservice, Idaho Potato Commission (IPC). “We want food bloggersto embrace the versatility of the Idaho potato and broaden their audience’s expectations with new and exciting recipes.”
Two bloggers, Judy Lyness of Two Broads Abroad and Erika Penzer Kerekes of In Erika’s Kitchen, developed and served nine new mouth-watering Idaho® potato recipes to the 22 guests at this invite-only event. The recipes are posted on the IPC’s website www.idahopotato.com.
Over the past five years, the IPC has worked and met with hundreds of food bloggers from across the country. “Food bloggers have become an integral part of the Idaho Potato Commission’s marketing campaign,” continued Odiorne. “These talented home cooks are extremely dedicated to what they do and have an impressive following of loyal social media followers, which helps us communicate more directly and frequently with consumers.”
