IPC Helps Spur Higher 2016 Demand for U.S.-Grown Potatoes
Export Tip: Protecting Yourself from Non-Payment
Thanks in part to Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) efforts in some of the state’s top overseas markets, export volume of overall U.S.-grown potatoes saw a 1.9 percent gain last year.
According to the Potatoes USA (formerly U.S. Potato Board) U.S. Potato Sales & Utilization Report, potato export volume grew to 6,976 billion pounds fresh weight equivalent in 2016, including these top Idaho® potato export markets:
Taiwan – 53.35% increase over 2015
IPC initiatives: participate in annual Taiwan Fruit and Vegetable Show, hosted two IPC chef training seminars and will participate in the Idaho governor’s November trade mission to Taiwan/Vietnam
