Jamie Bowen, Idaho Potato Commission Marketing Manager
Boise, Idaho, November 8, 2018 – Members of the International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) recently elected Jamie Bowen, Marketing Manager for the Idaho Potato Commission, to serve on the Board of Directors at its 62nd annual conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. Bowen will serve a two-year term on the IFEC Board.
According to Bowen, “There isn’t another organization where public relations/marketing professionals and editors come together to build professional and personal relationships. Sure, we all discuss trends and story ideas and stay true to the IFEC mission, but we all have fun in the process. I look forward to strengthening and growing IFEC so future members will know how truly lucky they are.”
As an IFEC member for 10 years, Bowen has contributed her creativity, focus, energy and organizational skills to the committees she has served on—New-Member Orientation, Learning Sessions, Scholarship Auction—while expanding her foodservice network.
A native Idahoan and a graduate of Boise State University in business marketing, Bowen has been a tireless promoter of all things Idaho since 2008, particularly the state’s most famous commodity: Idaho® Potatoes. In addition, she’s been recognized by Produce Business as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” in 2014, an honor bestowed on emerging produce industry leaders.
About the Idaho Potato Commission
Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous “Grown in Idaho®” seal, a federally registered trademark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho’s growing season of warm days and cool nights, ample mountain-fed irrigation and rich volcanic soil, give Idaho® potatoes their unique texture, taste and dependable performance. These ideal growing conditions are what differentiate Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states. For more information, visit idahopotato.com.
Founded in 1956, IFEC is a 250-member professional association that brings foodservice B2B editors, public relations and marketing communications professionals together to exchange ideas and resources and explore regional trends. Editor members write for foodservice B2B publications, while PR/marketing members represent foodservice suppliers, restaurants, non-commercial operations, trade groups and more. Through education and networking activities, tuition assistance for members’ continuing education and scholarships for students preparing for foodservice communications careers, the association strives to encourage high professional and aesthetic standards among those working in and with the foodservice media and the entry of high-caliber individuals into the field.
