Eagle, Idaho, December 10, 2021 -- The Idaho landscape is breathtaking, especially during potato harvest. This year the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) asked growers, those closest to the land, to submit their favorite photos for a chance to win an Idaho potato branded, KLIM jacket.
Dozens of farmers embraced the chance to show off their farms at sunrise, dusk, in the rain and under the stars. “It was extremely difficult to select just one winner, because let’s face it, it’s hard to take a bad picture of the Idaho landscape during harvest,” said Travis Blacker, Industry Relations, Director, IPC.
Mishell Van Orden of Garth Van Orden Farms won first place for the photos she took on her family farm in Pingree, ID. “That picture was taken on October 3rd, 2021. We were working Burbank’s late into the night and trying to finish that field. It was just sunset on that beautiful night.”
The IPC will use the photos throughout the year to help promote America’s favorite vegetable, the Idaho potato.
