Nancy Buchanan is the owner and author of A Communal Table, an online publication that explores food culture through globally inspired recipes. After leaving the world of corporate finance, Nancy returned to school and studied both culinary arts and nutrition and worked as a personal chef and caterer for over 12 years before starting A Communal Table. As a registered Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Nancy currently is on the faculty of Orange Coast College where she teaches courses on food culture, cooking and nutrition. With her background in both culinary arts and nutrition Nancy also works as a recipe developer, food stylist and photographer. Her work has appeared in both national and regional newspapers including the Los Angeles Times and Taste of Home magazine.
