How many generations?
5th Generation farm with 4 generations of growing Idaho potatoes
I'm proud to be a farmer because... It provides an opportunity to give back locally and nationally. I can provide a job for local people in the community, along with helping others around me who may be struggling in their circumstances. I provide a product that is known nationally and globally that is healthy and nutritious. I also find a lot of personal satisfaction in planting a seed, caring for it, watching it grow and harvesting it for my family and other families to enjoy.
My favorite way to eat a potato:
Baked
Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency that is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous "Grown in Idaho®" seal, a federally registered trademark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho's ideal growing conditions, including rich, volcanic soil, climate and irrigation differentiate Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
