R.J. Andrus of Idahoan Foods Appointed Chairman of The Idaho Potato Commission

EAGLE, ID, September 24, 2010 – At the annual Idaho Grower Shippers Association’s Industry Breakfast held in Sun Valley, ID, Commissioner R.J. Andrus was appointed Chairman of the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) and Commissioner Jim Tiede was appointed Vice Chairman.  Both Andrus and Tiede will serve one-year terms.

“This is perhaps one of the most exciting years for the IPC.  We have a superb group of industry representatives dedicated to promoting and protecting one of the most recognized brands in the world, the Idaho® potato,” said Frank Muir, President and CEO, IPC.  “Chairman Andrus is a well-respected industry leader and his expertise and experience will be utilized as the IPC continues to strengthen existing marketing initiatives and mine new opportunities to promote the ’Grown in Idaho®’ seal.”

Andrus is a Senior Field Manager at Idahoan Foods in Lewisville, ID and has been with the company for over 19 years. Tiede is the owner of Tiede Farms in American Falls, ID.  The seven other Commissioners representing Idaho® potato growers, processors and shippers are:
