Prestigious annual award honors select group of young achievers
EAGLE, ID, November 5, 2014 – Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) marketing manager Jamie Bowen has been chosen as a “40 Under Forty” produce industry leader for 2014 by Produce Business magazine.
“I was very excited when I found out that I had won the award – it was awesome,” says Bowen. “I was born and raised in Idaho, and I have a passion for our state and the great things that we offer, like our world-famous potatoes. I’ve worked really hard alongside my excellent team here at the IPC, and I think we’re the strongest we’ve ever been.”
The 32-year-old Boise, Idaho native, who earned a business marketing degree from Boise State University, originally beat out around 500 other applicants when she joined the IPC as a marketing assistant more than six years ago. Two years later Bowen was named IPC domestic marketing manager, and she has worked tirelessly to help promote the entire Idaho® potato industry through marketing, advertising, attending trade shows and providing other promotional support.
“I’m very involved in our nationwide Potato Lover’s Month contest held each February, from the design process for the contest materials to awarding the prizes,” says Bowen. “I also work with our web team on updating the IPC website every month and making it more mobile friendly, so that it’s as easy as possible for everyone to access the latest Idaho® potato information.”
The annual Produce Business “40 Under Forty” awards, which require nomination by an industry peer, recognize up-and-coming produce professionals for their career accomplishments, demonstrated leadership and industry/community contributions.
