Holiday Retail Promotion Offers $1.00-off Coupon on Idaho® Potatoes

BOISE, ID, November 24, 2009 - From the vineyards of Australia to kitchens across the city of London, you'll be hard-pressed to find a holiday meal that doesn't include potatoes. The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) has partnered with Rosemount Wines in a unique holiday promotion that gives consumers $1.00 off a 5-pound bag of Idaho® potatoes as well as Gordon Ramsay's own recipe for Champ, an English-style mashed potato dish that is sure to become a family favorite. You can also enjoy holiday savings from other promotion participants including pork and Maille mustard.

"The period between Thanksgiving and the end of the year is a critical selling period for Idaho® potatoes, and retail promotions, such as this, remind consumers to include Idaho® potatoes in all their holiday meals - Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years," said Seth Pemsler, VP Retail/International, IPC. "This promotion is especially exciting because it is fueled by one of the world's most famous chefs, Gordon Ramsay, and includes premium products like Maille, pork and, of course, Idaho® potatoes."

Now through the end of the year, Rosemount Wines will feature bottleneckers featuring coupons and recipes.

The Idaho Potato Commission is a state agency that is primarily responsible for expanding the markets for Idaho®-grown potatoes through advertising, promotion and research. The Commission also protects the use of the "Idaho® potato" and "Grown in Idaho®" seals, which are federally registered Certification Marks that belong to the IPC. These Marks ensure that consumers are purchasing potatoes that have been grown in the state of Idaho. For more information visit www.idahopotato.com.
