Eagle, ID, May 7, 2012—This year, champions from the Western Athletic and Mid-American Conferences will go helmet-to-helmet on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. MST in hope of returning home with the Famous Idaho® Potato Bowl trophy. The game will be the second of the bowl season and televised nationally on ESPN.
“We were absolutely thrilled with our sponsorship last year. The last five minutes of the game were probably the most exciting of all the bowl games in 2011,” explained Frank Muir, President and CEO, Idaho Potato Commission (IPC). “And, even more exciting was the positive publicity the Idaho® potato brand received – more than four billion media impressions were generated over a five month period.”
As the title sponsor, the IPC receives the exclusive naming rights to the state’s only bowl game and the following:
“The Famous Idaho® Potato Bowl provides the perfect platform for us to showcase and promote the famous Idaho® potato brand during our peak purchase season,” continued Muir. “We can’t wait for this year’s game!”
