Boise State Football Players Prepare For The Season With Secret Weapon 

Football season has finally kicked off! While many know that Idaho is the potato state, many don't know that this veggie is also Boise State University football team's secret weapon. The Broncos use 100-pound bags of spuds in their training regimen to help improve strength and flexibility. Whether they're running up and down Albertson's stadium steps or tossing the bags to each other, Idaho® potatoes keep the team fueled all season long! 

The Big Idaho® Potato Truck at Bristol Motor Speedway 

The Big Idaho® Potato Truck had quite an exciting month! One of the Trucks most recent adventures was the Food City 300 NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway! This "Speedy Spud" had a fun time meeting drivers and fans alike. The "Tater Team Member for a Day" giveaway winner, Brenna McLeran, was able to join in on the fun and flew to Bristol to experience all of the behind-the-scenes festivities! Q: I am looking for something unique to bring to our football tailgating event that might reflect that I am from Idaho. Any suggestions?
 
A: We love our potatoes and what better way to get other people hooked on ‘em during football season than with fresh made potato chips. For starters, a Mandoline is really the best way to cut thin slices, however a vegetable or meat slicer will work too. I recommend using Idaho® Russet Burbank potatoes and slice them lengthwise. Who doesn’t love a bigger chip? This particular recipe is from a fun NYC BBQ restaurant called Blue Smoke. The chips can be prepared ahead of time making them perfect for tailgating. You’ll find that your friends will inhale these. Yes, they are that good! We recommend adding a dip to slow down their consumption to a moderate pace... Enjoy the game!
